Going the extra mile for your client

What extra things do you do for your clients?
Well I'm not talking about shining their shoes, or washing their car, but do you give your client that extra little something so that they'll remember you and recommend you to others.
We sometimes give our clients a copy of an aerial photo showing their property or take a photo as shown here to illustrate what we have marked.
( An aerial photo inserted in the program miniCAD5 using the geo-referencing tool.

We recently marked a large house, carport, pool and tennis court in the southern highlands of N.S.W. , Australia. For those who don't know it, it can be rather cool and fresh down there. The scenery is beautiful and its a great place to work.
I managed to get up high and take a photo. I drew coloured lines between the pegs I marked.
The client was very happy to see his house outline before it was constructed.
Simple things like this can help you receive more work in the future. You should try it!

I do things like that all the time with Google Earth and aerials that they have but not on the other types of photos. I do not know an easy way to show linework on the photos that I also take on every job. I guess I could do the sketch work on a “paint” program photo overlay. What did you use?

Hi Gary, I used paint to draw lines quickly from peg to peg but the aerial photo I used the program miniCAD5.
miniCAD5 - The aerial photo - You can do that in demo version also! The geo-referencing tool in minicad is pretty handy. If you draw the boundaries of the block of land, you can then copy an aerial photo off google say, then insert it in miniCAD and make it fit with the boundaries. Then if it fits well, you can draw adjoining info without even doing a survey!!!.....Ofcourse you would have to place a disclaimer or such but its great for placing extra detail on the block such as a DAM, track, swimming pool....
